The new Tanzania mining laws are extremely onerous in my opinion.

There are a lot of bad clauses, particularly for companies that may already have been granted any kind of a tax concession. My understanding in this situation is that the government may insist on acquiring up to 40% of the project, plus all the other restrictions and payments also still stand. Really bad news.

I won't be investing in any companies with projects in Tanzania.
