Do you know anything about the shipbuilding industry? China already delivers more tonnage per year than any other country except for Japan and Korea. They also have upwards of 600 shipyards.
Austal has specific design and fabrication skills with high speed vessels that are not easily transferred to a third world country, but the writing is on the wall for Austal's commercial business long term. It's one of the reasons that John Rothwell is on record as saying that Austal is migrating to a primarily defence based business.
