I did some (brief) research re Managed Investment Schemes not using a Managed Trust structure and could not find any that only comprised a single property asset, which is the Domacom model. By extension i would assume that each property would have to constitute a individual MIS, which presents a whole lot of issues.
I note that the Domacom's CEO in commenting on the loss of the recent Federal Court case last week stated • The ruling has no bearing on DomaCom’s current business model. That coupled with the treasurers Ban on MIT's holding Residential Property*I would argue does have a significant impact on Domacom's current business model.
I'm not sure what bits are left of the current business model with the loss of Residential Property Investment (* albeit with the exception of qualifying "Affordable Housing"), save for the Pub at Deni, The Caravan Park at Cobram and the Methane Power Plant next to the sewage treatment plant at Casino.
Can you let me know which similar players are using a single Residential Property asset (MIS) in this space.
I note we are still awaiting Domacom's promised cash strategy in December 2017 and the Family and Friends platform also announced to be released in early December 2017.
