    I am told it is done routinely in Aus hospitals but for settling various bowel disorders, with tremendous success.

    I would think, in order to slim, the bowels would need to be made less efficient.
    Ie less of the "digesting bugs"
    Perhaps thin people on average have less "bugs that aid digestion"

    The answer is simple
    Collect turds from a sample of fat and thin people, and measure the remaining calorific energy in each-
