IMO it is economical to mine, however the Chinese were always reluctant to cough up the cash. The Bindoon pit was a PR disaster and from then on the company couldn't do any good in the local community's eyes. Sad would of been great for the region were I live (Bindoon, Toodyay, Morangup and Wundowie), creating jobs for 50 years with low impact on neighboring properties.
