If there's no liquidity and we get the announcement all us longs have hoped for, short sellers will need to pay high prices for shares....

can you tell me where you are shorting? If I can protect downside while shorting, then that may be a good hedging strategy. This stock has a history of disappointment, and even though I'm long, I don't want to repeat the previous times I've seen my gains evaporate.
