The div does attract buyers, but the EHL buying spurt this week seems different. The buying far exceeds the div and franking credit (up this week from 62 cents to 72 cents).

I suspect whatever started rise this last week (strong dividend in spite of wobbly revenue?) alerted others to the price and volume rise, resulting in a momentum effect. Or there might have been a recommendation change by a major analyst, but it's not showing up yet on consensus sources (no consensus changes since HY13 presentation).

One warning: EHL shares rose quickly after the past two financial releases and then fell immediately after ex-div. The differences this time are (a) EHL is at a much lower price (i.e. low P/E ratio), (b) outlook is better than past two times (but not great, either), and (c) this time seems to have more volume.

So, we'll see if EHL gets rerated or not.
