BNP Paribas have many arms, the nominee company in Aust is the arm covering Aust.
They are a market maker in the UK/Europe, and other markets, but I do not believe they are market makers here. Their equities division will trade globally in these markets on behalf of clients or for ts own proprietary account. You can interpret nominees to be either on behalf of others or the parent.
I expect that at least BNP trade mostly on behalf of the parent group, they have about 500 staff here.
