Both cdch1 and melua have outlined some of the reasons why they have invested. I'm happy to reiterate their thoughts. I went to a pre-IPO presentation which confirmed everything I had heard about this project. It is looking for an elephant and imo has a v good chance of finding one. Like cdch1 I bid for $500k however was cut back to only 15%. Since then I have purchased over 800k shares on market. There are lots of companies vying for investor dollars and from a risk reward perspective I think this is one ticks the right boxes for me.
Just to clarify, the consolidation of the ground has occurred over many many decades. The family that did this was into oil, mining was a sideline. When the old man died it sat there for many years before a group of Aussies found it and convinced the family that they can explore and discover what the family has believed for over 50 years - this is a potential world class resource. The title system over in the US consists of freehold tenure as well as leasehold. Alderan has been tying up the final loose ends so that this can be evaluated as a whole. Geophysics are underway and drilling is v v close. I consider the risk of not finding something to be low hence why, at $1.30, I'm still topping up. One good drill hole and it'll double.
