It seems to me that China may have an incentive to issue bogus numbers in an attempt to keep RE prices down in the reports and information they let the world know. Since most of the products that leave China to their out of country customers is in the form of a value added product. They could understate the cost of the rare earths component and make-up the difference in the value added product.....Why would they do this? Well it might lower the price of the rare earths, so their competitors can't charge as much, and it might thwart the other companies who want to get into the business. Just a thought!
