That is not entirely correct. EDF had a long term contract to be supplied U. The proposed capital restructure and drop in value in the mkt triggered various provisions in the contract. However , trigger points were not far off and EDF was completely non receptive to any adjustment and negotiation. This was happening while CNNC was playing its games. CNNC has subsequently not followed thru with their option exercise. Its resulted in a mess. These are big boys and long term supply agreements are the norm. Stakeholders do have a right to question EDF here because what is clear is they was no intent on their behalf to be commercial. Perhaps they had some game in mind with CNNC? Perhaps is was a way to try to pick up the asset cheap. Doesnt matter now. What is clear is some restructure is being worked on otherwise we would of been in liquidation long ago.
