I book a fair bit of travel online and I am very habitual with what I use. I find for me prices are usually about the same or within similar price ranges and as such I use the websites I find the easiest to navigate.

For example -
For domestic flights I always book with webjet.
For international flights I use sky scanner (their interface rocks)
For accommodation I use a few sites but I often do check/use wotif.

Point i'm trying to make is that price is not always in the forefront of peoples minds.

I have watched WTF for a few years and am taking up a small position today with a long term outlook. I think the market has been overly harsh. It still has good market share, income and room for growth.
