Pictures not your strong suit? The prediction says that at 7pm tomorrow, December 14th
TC Owen will cross the Qld coast south of Kowanyama, travelling Southeast. It may be Cat 4 and will rapidly weaken to Cat 1 after crossing. It is only about 100 km across. The winds at Karumba will be from the southeast, blowing off the land and only just reaching gale force, 34 knots, so Karumba looks to be pretty sheltered. Pretty sure that the port facility has survived worse than that.
Dude - I'm not having a go at you or anyone else and I've got a big holding in NCZ for disclosure.
I'm just saying 200KMH winds are certainly not worth dismissing. Hopefully the port facility is fine and comes out unscathed, but the direction of the cyclone will cross right over the port facility.
