What's nice about Klondyke is that an open cut mining operation gets payable ore right from the commencement of the dig as the ore at a decent grade starts at the surface and it is still open at depth. Most open cut mines require a lot of preliminary overburden removal before any paying ore can be mined. The Klondyke mine profile would allow immediate access to payable ore and a much lower initial capital outlay with a shorter pay back. However we need to prove up over 1.2 million ounces at Klondyke to make financing a new processing mill viable. The higher the grade the better of course, and once the mill is up an running the satellite deposits all come into play. 10 km is quite reasonable for trucking good grade ore.
