Have you ever seen a gold project where they didn't intersect any barren rock? There's a bloody good reason why it's a radical outlier - people need to look at this objectively.

Yes, the pyrometallurgy path is more expensive than CIL per tonne but capital costs are less and anyway, it's well and truly negated by the ounce-plus grades per tonne. Furthermore, hydroelectricity (and everything else) is very cheap in Brazil.
