FRIDAY came and went as the expected deadline for a Latin American investor to sign along the dotted for 100 million shares in EnviroGold (EVG), which is developing a gold tailings treatment operation in the Dominican Republic and then will move on to gold mining in Ecuador. No need for investors to panic: everything is on track, it is just that the lawyers for the new Dominican shareholder are being particularly pernickety. EVG boss Brian Johnson has been in Santo Domingo for six weeks and expects to remain in the Dominican capital for another fortnight. THE takeover talk swirling around Perseus Mining (PRU) has only just begun according to New York-based investment house Rodman & Renshaw. PRU's mining leases in Ghana have been granted, and R&R analyst Alka Singh expects its seven million ounce gold resource to swell to 10 million ounces. "At which point," he adds," every major gold producer in Ghana will take a closer look at the company". His target price is $4 against Friday's close of $1.91.
