Though can't get around the fact that all majors continue unabated their
gold extraction from known/unknown reserves on their lands.
Surely they pile the production somewhere?

For myself, I got my gold reserves depleted recently by a loss of 9ct chain s'where on Bondi Beach.

    Cheers,

    BTW:
China is also a world leader in gold production. Having overtaken South Africa in 2007, China has been the largest gold producer in the world for 11 years in succession, producing 426.14t in 2017, equivalent to just over 13% of the global market.Oct 18, 2018

In 2016 the United States produced 209 tonnes of gold, worth about US$8.5 billion, and 6.7% of world production, making it the fourth-largest gold-producing nation, behind China, Australia and Russia. Most gold produced today in the US comes from large open-pit heap leach mines in the state of Nevada.
