just had quick contact with someone who knows him (i dont) and the above guy your referring too was a seed funder and was selling to free up cash. nothing of any significance
nice research tulip, it also lead me to read some of the post from one of the guys on the 4ds thread you had been chatting to who seemed fairly cluey. i personally don't think that being 3-6 months behind the competition is a big deal and will not be a deciding factor. what does matter:
- memory tech which has the highest performance across the most metrics
- cheapest to produce (silicone)
- re-tooling required or lack there of (this is very costly to manufacturers if they have to re-tool)
- management
