G'day. I don't trade ETFs but I certainly invest in them for the long term (STW and Vanguard's unlisted ASX300 fund).
To be honest, the answer to your question is probably somewhere in the fine print but I imagine that if State Street were to go out of business, we would still own our listed STW units (and therefore indirectly own the underlying individual stocks). After all, State Street is merely the manager of the fund, not the owner.
