Borris I appreciate your bullishnes to some extent but is the condescension necessary ? It lowers the tone of the thread and in my eyes starts to discredit your stance.
To all - I agree there's some work to be done. Prometheus does not appear to be gamified to the same extent and is therefore not strictly a competitor ? Looks like an awesome tool for the classroom and more likely to be something more schools adopt in the classroom though which would make it a competitor in the "curriculum" space (if that is even an aim of the company).
I look more to things like Leap pad etc as examples of where Kneoworld sits. Leap Pad I believe has had reasonable success but where it differs is getting the parents drawn in through using it as a "development" tool for their pre-schooler. I think this is where Kneoworld is being positioned through the PTA program for school age kids. Their marketers will be looking to appeal to the parents wanting to do the "right thing" by getting their kids to enjoy learning.
It will be a struggle for kids that are introduced to other gaming early in life. My 2 year old has not really seen gaming (and probably won't much) so Kneoworld I think in time she would love to "play" on. My 8 year old nephew however was playing Wii and Playstation before he was out of nappies and I think it would hard to convince him to play. He would probably give it a go if there was some incentive involved or if his friends were all playing but would be hard otherwise.
