What a better way to get the average price down than to short a...

What a better way to get the average price down than to short a stock, so for the sake of a piddley $1m or $2m why not short the stock to keep the price in the early 50's then come thru with an offer for 75-80c, some 50% higher than the avg for May-June, and all the "I am bored punters" bail when the offer comes thru, good way to work it in my books..... Or is it just wishful thinking ? Time will tell, will know in a week or two...
