Of course there’s a big difference, one is in Turkey and one is in Australia. So of course there is a different standard. I didn’t agree with his comments btw.
Simply put, don’t go to Turkey and talk sheet about their politics or religion. Same thing applies for nearly any other foreign country. Not rocket science is it. Mind your own business and you’ll have a good time
