Well I haven't done a fantasy league for years, so your odds are pretty good of avoiding the wooden spoon. Am off to an absolute shocker for week 1. Cheers for setting this up
@mowibble, and cheers for those links
@Jako8557 , I am so out of my depth.

No shame in having a crack.
I'm not great at it myself, but here's a tip that is worth remembering - dont fall for the trap of thinking GOOD OR EXPENSIVE PLAYER FROM GOOD TEAM = GOOD POINTS. A good player in a good team might not get alot of game time. And playing style matters. For example, good Man United players probably wont earn you much while Mourhinho is in charge.
Instead, maybe look for bargains to fill out your squad...fullbacks that might get alot of assists in attack-minded teams (anyone that plays in a back 3 + wingbacks, or even 4-2-3-1/4-3-3), reliable set piece takers in average teams, strikers that will get played every week (squads that lack depth), midfielders "on paper" that are actually being used as forwards in attacking teams (higher points structure), centrebacks that are good at scoring off corners, playmakers in good defensive teams (regular points for assists AND cleansheets)
Oh and look at past fixtures for clues to help you decide when to use your bonus buttons. Some teams are consistently good at cutting off supply to key players. Nothing more demoralizing than blowing your triple captain on high scoring player in a week where they are a shoe in for a 2 point game
