Well someone sold me my stocks, and perhaps that person can now have the option to buy a small parcel at a good discount to the current shareprice.
I think anyone who holds shares in a company is a genuine shareholder. their money is on the line after all.
Some holders may be long term, others may be trading.
I don't know what you mean when you say 'if you were genuine about the company..'
i could very well have the chance to buy more stocks cheaper later. I would prefer the bird in the hand .49c a share deal all other shareholders get. I feel I am not being treated equally to other shareholders while non-holders (who sold to me) may be treated better than me because they may have the chance to participate in a SPP for a stock they sold.
if a SHAREHOLDER was to participate in the SPP and make a quick 20% on selling the stock, I say good luck to that person. Its his/her money and he/she can do what she wants with it.
