We also don't know the true reason for the BB. In theory, it is to buy underpriced shares and cancel them to increase EPS. In practice, it can be used just to tell the shorters and market to not bother selling/pushing down SP. This is especially the case where strong personality CEOs who have big ownership want to protect the SP.
If you look at what happened when FMG announced their BB a few months ago, the CEO bought up very big even before BB was started. That pushed the SP up big time and ended the shorting program. I don't even think they have done any BB's to date.
I think BIN CEO will prefer to preserve cash, if he can. So he may use 'shock and awe' to kick off BB and maybe also buy some himself. After that, the BB may not be required much if SP pushes along nicely. Will be just used as an SP floor, if required.
It will be interesting to see how it pans over over the next week.
