Great post vmos, not been looking at this for a while - one of my holdings that have gone into the very long-term holdings box!
This has been a very busy month for ASB, and once again I'm amazed the stock hasnt reacted to some very positive news -
1. Sale of more wind farm vessels to the UK (value $10m) that to my mind confirms the competitiveness of the Phils yard.
2. Lease of the stock vessel for 4 years. Sure its not the sale we have been waiting for, but at least it should start generating some sort of return.
3. Orbis been upping its holding from 15% to 16.76% last month.
4. Continued small bolt on acquisitions to strengthen the defence support business.
In addition the AUD coming off is a huge positive for this company, especially as the US business starts to generate revenues.
Yup, we are all worrying about the fiscal cliff and what might happen to the defense budget. So the stock is likely to be capped for the moment. But surely there has to be a big player out there looking at these cash flows a couple years out...
