Dr Alex Pichard IEng PhD
A System Engineer at Carnegie Clean Energy, Alex is Project Manager for the Albany Wave Energy Project (AWEP) and leading the System Team at Carnegie. The team working on the project is currently composed of about 30 engineers, technicians, admin, legal and commercial staff.
Alex graduated with a Doctoate in Physics in 2010 and joined Carnegie in 2011. Alex has been working with the engineering team a Carnegie for 7 years and has acquired over that period an intimate knowledge of the CETO technology. He contributed to the design, construction, installation and operational phases of Carnegie’s previous project the Perth Wave Energy project consisting in the deployment of three CETO 5 Units offshore Garden Island. He is passionate about the Climate-Energy Challenge and the innovative technological solutions developed to face it. Alex is happiest when he is in or on the ocean, freediving, kitesurfing and exploring.
Alex’s presentation will give an overview of the Albany Wave Energy Project and the CETO technology developed by Carnegie. It will highlight the benefits brought by this project to the Marine Renewable industry and to the Albany region.
