Seaborne coal prices are up due to an unexpected increase in demand out of China, India, South Korea and Japan. The Newcastle Index is close to 5 Year highs and Australian and Indonesian producers are operating at or near capacity which is allowing the US and Russia to bridge the gap between supply and demand.
