Coal combustion releases nitrogen oxides, sulfur dioxide, particulate matter (PM), mercury, and dozens of other substances known to be hazardous to human health. 

To make a statement that coal only produces CO2 shows how blinkered some people are.
Go to Beijing or some of the other Asian cities  where coal has made the air almost un-breathable and spend sometime in one of those cities and you might have a different viewpoint after choking on toxic air for days.
