It was mentioned in The West Australian today that Uber are set to order 24000 driverless cars from Volvo which could be on the road as soon as early 2019. This ties in with what the company told me a few weeks back when I spoke to them regarding the likelihood of autonomous vehicles arriving much sooner then the general populace is expecting. It'll be interesting to see what they have to tell us at next weeks presentations. Not suggesting there is a link between ELS and Volvo(or that there isn't) - just that this sector is heating up quickly.
