yep there is no doubt that increasing the energy held by a battery is game changing, even by 10%, and potentially 30 and 40% in future, but it does come back to the charge discharge rates and safety factors.

The mta has to prove, to themselves that they can do this safely, without the battery heating  up to possibly the point it catches on fire and it will be able to be recharged how many times? Before performance drops back to where it was before the 10% improvement was made.

These issues have to be resolved. Otherwise it will dive, fast.

 

The safety issue around heat has not been mentioned at all yet by the company but it is a common problem for batteries.

Charging/discharging is the whole game at the moment.

Performance improvements are in the bag,

but it's only half the story.
