EWC CEO Steward Elliot has asked Vice President M Jusuf Kalla to extend production sharing contracts (PSC) for oil and gas working areas of Sengkang for the next 20-25 years.

Elliott said during an audience with Vice President M Jusuf Kalla in his office, Jakarta, Thursday.

"I hope that your assistance to SKK Migas can immediately receive the EWC submission, and the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources can issue a decision before the end of 2018," he said quoted from the page of the Vice President.

In addition, Elliott also requested support from the Vice President regarding the development plan of PLTGU Sengkang, and a new cooperation framework applicable to PLN, whereby PLN's subsidiary owns 51 percent of equity, and the remaining 49 percent is held by Developer which also must finance 100 percent of equity investment including PLN components.

Responding to that, the Vice President suggested that Elliot can immediately submit the proposal to SKK Migas and the Ministry of ESDM and monitor the continuous process of licensing. "I will try to talk with the parties concerned about this, including with Jonan," he said.

In addition, the Vice President also suggested, if this proposal is accepted, EWC can anticipate the distribution of electrical energy to the surrounding islands. Due to the geography of the Indoinesia islands, it may result in a difference in production costs.

The Sengkang Gas Field, located in South Sulawesi Province, operated by EU's 100% Equity Epic Sengkang (EEES) is owned by EWC. PSC will end in October 2022.

Gas from the Sengkang Gas Field, is supplied to PLTGU Sengkang 315 MW. The plant is operated by PT Energi Sengkang (PTES) owned 95 percent by EWC.

While Sengkang LNG Plant, has a capacity of 2 mtpa, consisting of 4 train modular @ 500.000 tpa equipped with dock facilities and ior / export terminal. Current construction has reached 80 percent. Gas supply is planned from PSC Sengkang.
