Not in my lifetime. For electric cars to take over the world, a massive transformation of service and accessibility needs to occur. People out in the country especially need oil for travel and I've never seen a electricity transfer station anywhere.

Whilst the idea of transport being converted to electrical means is great in theory, oil will continue as the primary energy source for many many yrs.
