With the launch of Tesla 300 mile range SUV one can easily argue that ICE engines are finally on the exit. MS and Barclays can say whatever they feel like, the EV revolution is on our doorstep. Interesting comment by Elon Musk for Model Y on the live stream was that users will be able to use up to 90% of the car battery capacity.
Add to this the Tesla recent acquisition of Maxwell Technologies the company can increase battery energy density from 250 Wh/Kg to 300 Wh/Kg with road map to 500 Wh/Kg, 2x Battery Life and 90% capacity utilization. It now all makes sense that the new technology from Maxwell Technologies is being incorporated into Model Y and costs savings are also being incorporated into the price of the vehicles.
