If anything, it is positive for Nicaragua. Gold is 3rd highest export commodity for Nicaragua.
Compare to other nations in the region, it has most stable political environment and better economic policies. Well, your comment and article made me nervous too, so I had to google a bit. (i.e. gold mining in Nicaragua outlook, government policies, etc..")
If anything, we should see more investment to come to Nicaragua for low cost mines and political stability !!! Just a thought (and hope)
