I don’t use divergence in my analysis of shares. MACD and RSI oscillator divergence is too unreliable to bother with based on past analysis. I just set a chart stop loss for each share, quickly check my portfolio during the evenings, and when I see that the stop loss price has been hit, submit a sell order with my broker the next day.
Infrequently there are charts where MACD histogram has been declining for weeks while the share is going sideways or up. It happened once with BKL in Dec, 2017. It was an early indication that the share was going to roll over. Quite often though there is apparent bearish divergence on a chart, but the share continues to trend up.
