EBR mentioned that the Ocean Patriot would be departing South Africa for NZ at end June.
Now I'm not sure how long the trip would take , I guess moving an oil rig would be very slow ..the distance is about 10,000 nm. So at ,say,150 nm per day , that will take 66 days , say 2 months to reach NZ. That means spud of Tawatawa (TAP 50% / E.Silica 50%) early Sept. and TD about 20th Sept. Then 14 days trip to Bass Strait so earliset drill could be mid Oct imo.
However , the 1 'contigent' well in NZ is Galleon South 1 (or possibly Barque-1) both offshore Dunedin (TAP 50% / AWE 50%)
The TD is 3500m approx. so if Tap/Awe elect to drill this while ocean Patriot is available , it will add on at least 1 month .. ... thats where I get my 'mid Nov' guess for Moby-1 spud.
I cannot see any reason (barring lack of reg. approvals) that TAP/AWE JV would not elect to exercise their option on the 'contigent' well off Dunedin . My simple reasoning is that demand for drill slots is so tight atm , and that both JV partners have expressed an eagerness to drill this prospect 'as soon as possible'.
Therefore Moby-1 spud is a long way off imo.
