Contract prices in the east are already put at $8.50-$11 a gigajoule, more than double historical rates of $3.50-$4/GJ.
Wood Mackenzie said it expects no softening in domestic contract prices for the next three years and they would nudge higher due to the tighter Asian LNG market, to $10.70-$12.70/GJ by 2025.
Prices could reach between $14.30 and $15.90 by 2030 "and continue to grow after that, depending on international oil prices," the consultancy said.
