Germany is certainly re-thinking its energy portfolio. It was the Socialist government of the Russophile Gerhard Schroeder who started buying gas from his friend Putin in really large quantities. That's why they can't cry too loudly about the Ukraine, nor impose too many sanctions on Russia. If Putin turns off the tap, Germany is in real trouble.
