A good argument, RB, but (also speculating) it would perhaps turn into an issue of Liability, not production methods. A condensed version of this might be:
- Who would carry the legal responsibility for (say) Freshero's guarantee that their produce is completely safe?
- In the event of a general product recall, would that guarantee be sufficient to avoid the recall?
- If so, and given that Freshero would then have a temporary monopoly on supermarket lettuces, would the 98+% of producers who would not be able to obtain a guarantee take this lying down?
- Would Rowena Orr QC, chair the Royal Commission into the Dearth of Greens in Australian Supermarkets?
