Rare earth weekly summary (Mar 6-10, 2017): Magnetic rare earth prices rise again except Dy
Meanwhile, demand for magnetic rare earth materials has been running well. The market has continued to see a tight spot supply for praseodymium/neodymium oxide.
Domestic supply for gadolinium oxide has been so tight this week underpinned by active consumer buying from NdFeB manufacturers
A growth in terbium prices has also been seen in the past few days underpinned by the bullish market expectations caused by the talked new round of national stockpile buying of rare earth.
Dysprosium is an exception despite of increases in prices for most magnetic rare earth elements. Dysprosium prices have not seen any improvement this week, still holding about RMB1,200-1,210/kg($174-175/kg) for 99% dysprosium oxide. Little actual business has been reportedly done and some market players are somewhat anxious about the market outlook due to relatively ample availability and weak demand.
