I've read with interest the posts about Arc being a little too conservative on the reporting side of things.
The way i see it, Arc are being cautious and only reporting until solid evidence is obtained.
AWE seem to have taken the adventurous approach in their report this morning imho.
1. I understand that LWD tools were not used at Dunsborough. Therefore their comments could only be based on cuttings to surface and coring rate? Pretty dangerous for such positive reporting. But hey i'll take the upside in the shareprice ;)
2. They were pulling out the core at 6:00am WST time, or 9am EST. The reports were released between ~10:20 and 11:15am EST. I doubt they could retrieve 1,500+ metres of drill string in the couple of hours they had.
3. The operator, ROC, mentioned nothing of these shows.
So i think Arc has taken the appropriate action in not releasing information that was not 100% known to them.
That's my take on it anyhow.
Cheers.
