    Apple pays no tax because it declares no earnings in Australia. All its earnings are declared in Ireland where it pays an extremely low tax rate. Last time I looked Apple's market cap was US$500 billion - as in half a $trillion.

    Apple purchases do raise GST but GST is paid by the customer.

    Get Apple and a few others like Samsung paying Australian tax at 30% and we'd have no deficit.
