I just tested backing up my own website ( reluctantly ) to there dropmysite solution.

Its roughly 374mb in size and it took roughly 35 minutes to back up. This is a very long time.
Why ? Because the methods they use are outdated and inefficient.

Currently our company uses Idera to backup customers websites.

I just backed up my own website using our Idera solution. It took less than 5 minutes. When i want to back it up again ( say on a daily rotation ) it takes roughly 30 seconds. Because it only backs up the changes made ( pretty much none, its a static site, more so the process firing up, scanning the files and deciding that there is nothing to back up )
Dropmysite : will backup your whole website each and every time ie it does not support incremental backups..

While the time it takes to backup your website is most likely irrelevant to the end user ( as backups usually run on a schedule during the night ) it proves the point that the solution is not efficient in the way it handles its data.

Once again, i just backup up my email account. It is roughly 1.2GB in size and has 20+ folders in it. Obviously my email is important to me, i have alot of it and have alot of folders storing different types of emails... like a lot of folk today.

Wow it finished quickly ( not really because it didnt complete the job)

Sadly all the backup solution does is backup the current emails in the INBOX folder of my email.
What about ALL my other sorted / archived / folders. Probably my most important data of all.
Sadly its not backed up. I am unable to find an option via the web interface to capture these folders.
This right here is a show stopper. If it cant backup all of my email, then im just not going to use it.

At the end of the day it is just an MOU.

If you really think this is a great company to invest in, i think it would be better to wait for more details about the product and what the future may hold. ( road map / development etc )

Getting in on a placement at 0.005 might seem like a good now because the share price is currently 1.1 cent. But you have to own shares to be eligible right ? Wonder how that deal will start to look when the share price gets pushed back to the raising price as folk cash out there 0.005 placement shares.

    You say that wont happen?
Maybe it wont, but i have been around long enough ( and thats not very long ) to see even the best of stocks get pushed back to the raising level. Some times going even lower.

If you have some technical questions that you would like to know or understand i would be more than happy to answer them.

    Cheers
