the meaning should be obvious - its about the time value of money.
DRM sp is likely to track sideways until the deal completes going by the history of such deals. ofc a big gold move may change that - but SLR sp basically acts like a cap on DRM sp until completion - and SLR is super high cost producer so outside a major gold move it tends to be range bound traded
so if you;ve got better places to put your money then you;d sell now and buy back just prior to or after deal completes
if you dont care about how long it takes and that your money will likely do nothing in the meantime - then you may as well hold on
for eg, SUN will pay a 20+c dividend (and is significantly undervalued) in about 15 days - so i sold my DRM to buy SUN at $12.43 for that dividend - then ill think about putting the money back into DRM post the div
