Isn’t the big battery in SA there to store energy for rapid discharge when required to stabilise the grid for a few minutes while gas generators kick in to stop the grid crashing? I think there’s a difference between battery energy storage to supply a constant load and battery energy storage for the purpose SA is using it, no?
