BTW, the British were never ‘rattled’ by the uprising; they and we carefully dealt with it as primarily a ‘police action’, not a civil war, and its successful outcome is still regarded worldwide as the model of how to successfully put down a violent political/communist insurrection. General Suharto in Indonesia chose a far more violent course in 1965.....
