    Comment:

    On the 24th of December 2012, the east coast of Malaysia has one of the worst floods ever in

    decades because of the severe Monsoon rains.

    Large areas of Kuantan town and the rest of Pahang state was severely inundated.

    However, according to one of the Chinese newspapers Sin Chew,

    the only famous place that is NOT FLOODED IS THE LYNAS PLANT !

    This is not unexpected as the plant is built on land

    that is 10 METRES (33 ft) ABOVE SEA LEVEL.

    So if the plant is flooded, practically the whole of Kuantan would be severely flooded and most of the Kuantan folks would be under at least 10 ft of water!

    And do you know that the 3 Lynas residues consisting of FGD, NUF and WLP if not separated and left in it's moist form, with about 35% moisture, would have an average specific activity of only 0.9 Bq/g even without dilution by blending with the Malaysian soil !

    A RADIOACTIVITY OF 0.9 Bq/g IS FIT TO BE EATEN (IF EDIBLE) UNDER US AND EU REGULATIONS ! ! !

    EU foodstuff = 1.25 Bq/g (1,250 Bq/kg)

    SO THE RADIOACTIVITY IN THE LYNAS RESIDUE IS NOT DANGEROUS AND IF not separated and left in it's moist form, with about 35% moisture,
    will have a RADIOACTIVITY of only 0.9 Bq/g,

    AND IS FIT TO BE EATEN (IF EDIBLE) UNDER US AND EU REGULATIONS ! ! !

    "THORIUM IN "WASTE" IS INSOLUBLE AND CANNOT POISON ANY PLANTS, ANIMALS OR THE ENVIRONMENT - EVEN IN THEORY."

    SO IF A SUPER FLOOD HITS THE LYNAS PLANT AND MIXES ALL THE 3 RESIDUES OF WLP, NUF AND FGD TOGETHER, THE MOIST MIXTURE WILL BE FIT TO BE EATEN (if edible) according to the Regulatory limits on radioactivity in foods in both the USA and EU (source: IAEA).
