Persia.... I think you’ll find that just the same as every other nation in history that they have been making war on their neighbours forever.

None of us are immune from avarice. Sorry but I can’t get in to the whole ‘it didn’t start until Whitey arrived’ thing as it just doesn’t ring true. The Romans didn’t start the English off & no one started the Romans off.

If we want to ‘blame’ anyone I say we blame the wind that blew the branch that knocked Ugg’s favourote stick in to the fire. Ugg then blamed Oog, they had a fight & here we are, millions of years later.

Again- if the base culture is peaceful then no amount of weapons etc will motivate one to harm others. The blame game is just a way to avoid responsibility by those carrying out the violence.

It’s not you. It’s not me. I won’t make excuses for them, remembering of course that ultimately each of us must take responsibility for our actions.

Blaming others for violence because they supplied weapons? Try blaming the pub next time you get pulled over for DUI, see how that goes. ( even a woman who gets drunk off free booze on ladies night can’t pull that one & that is a perfect example of being supplied with that which caused the problem ).

The Iranians are adults. I’ll treat them as such & expect them to behave at least as well as I do.
My dad handed my brother & I a rifle when I was about 6. He supplied us with a weapon. What did we do? Without adult supervision, ( my brother was still in primary school himself ), we went off to shoot a few trees & some coke cans etc. we did not rush off to intimidate, harm or kill a neighbour.

Thinking of that- perhaps I can say I will treat the Iranians as children because even as a kid I was given a rifle & firecrackers etc which could easily have been used to harm others, yet neither I, my family or friends, were harmed by or harmed anyone.

It’s all down to culture & upbrining. Give Ozzy kids with a ‘do unto others, don’t hurt others & he honest’ a rifle? No sweat- no one gets hurt.

Give many muslim adults a rifle with a ‘it’s ok to lie, terrorise outsiders & non members are garbage’ upbringing? Well, this whole thread shows how that works out.

When our kids behave better than their adults I think it’s time to stop the blame game & historical ‘justifications’, admit that we are doing something right & not be shy to point out that they clearly, oh so clearly, are not.

People want to talk money & doing it tough etc as being to blame? Cool- let’s see what happened during the Great Depression etc here. No explosion of violence. Saudi etc? Richer than sin & still cutting off women’s heads in the street & happy to have a slave for every middle to upper class Saudi.
