I can understand anti-coal sentiment, but this is an issue that is surely the province of public policy. We need political decisions regarding coal and other environmental and economic matters.
Companies are surely entitled to operate lawfully and ethically within a public policy framework set by governments.
What is happening in the world of coal is that public companies (which report publicly and have corporate responsibilities to shareholders and stakeholders) are being progressively "shamed-out/forced-out" of coal mining by "virtuous" people and institutions. This is not reducing coal mining, but rather causing the mines to be transferred to less-accountable non-transparent mostly-private (and foreign) ownership at a reduced price. IMO actions in the name of public virtue are producing a worse result, and no improvement in CO2 emissions.
I am concerned about greenhouse gas emissions including CO2.
I am concerned re DOW working for Adani, but more so as to whether DOW will be dealing with a commercially-ethical counterparty.
And re the coal and its proposed use in India to generate electricity - I have seen widespread and appalling poverty in India, and I can see in part that electricity can improve lives and opportunities - so the ethics of coal is not all one way for me.
    thanks again for your contributions
